Anchors of Stage Management
Rehearsal Reports
The rehearsal reports are recorded by the stage managers and track the rehearsal process of production. They note company attendance, schedule changes, design logistics, and technical needs for the show. The design and technical teams use them as a source of information during their design process.
Technical Plan
The stage manager is in tune with all practical and directed needs of the show and monitors the success of each technical and design team. They plan for all technical elements of the show and create assignments for the running crew to orchestrate them.
Calling the Show
The stage manager calls all technical cues during the show, timing cues with the music, blocking, or lines. They communicate with the orchestra conductor on when to start the show musically, and the technical operators on when to change the lights.
